SUMMARY:5PM - Beginner Digital Illustration
DESCRIPTION:MONDAY CLASS 5PM \nToday we finished our Four Flowers drawing. Good job on your flowers everyone 🙂 \n \nWe also started a new project to draw a Blue Jay. We are using a square canvas this time. So far we filled in the background to be a light gray\, and we drew the base shape of the bird to start off. As seen below. \n \nHOMEWORK \n\nDraw another flower. Use a new canvas to draw another flower that is different than the flowers we drew in class. You can draw any flower that we didn’t use in class already. Use at least three layers for the flower head\, the stems and leaves\, and the pot. You can use more layers if you want to.\nCatch up to where we are on the Blue Jay project. We drew the light blue bird base shape that includes the head and body\, you can see pictured above. Be ready with this for next class.

SUMMARY:5PM - Beginner Digital Illustration
DESCRIPTION:MONDAY CLASS 5PM \nToday we added the tail and the wing to our Blue Jay project. We used the following steps for each item. \n\nFirst\, draw a base shape in a solid color. (shape of the tail or wing)\nSelect the shape with the Magic Wand tool. This makes staying inside the lines easy while we add details.\nAdd darker and lighter shades of color using the Airbrush tool for soft gradient transitions of color.\nDraw the lines to separate the feathers\, and show detail. (NOTE: lines can be drawn in a separate layer to allow freedom of coloring)\nAdd more feather details as lines or colors as needed.\n\nNext week we will draw the details of the head and face. \n \nHOMEWORK \nConsider the WIP (work in progress) image above. Make sure your layers is organized the same way for best results. Catch up and re-do anything you need\, to be ready for next class. You should be caught up at least to the picture above.

We also learned how to place brushes into our own “Custom” list of brushes for easier access\, and we used a new “Fern” brush to draw simple trees. \nNext week\, we will be drawing another landscape.
