SUMMARY:12 PM - Intro To Java - Gamas
DESCRIPTION:Today We Do\n\nWe continued learning Map/HashMap. We learned how HashMap contains key and value whereas List only contains values.\nWe learned how to add and find Restaurant object form Map/HashMap.\n\nHomework\n\nAdd code to enable “3. Find Restaurant using List”. Make it case insensitive. So if user enters “KabuKI” vs “kabuki” it will find the restaurant if it is in the system.\nChange code in “4. Find Restaurant in Map”. Make it case insensitive. To do this\, you probably have to change how you add the Restaurant code too specifically the map’s key.

SUMMARY:5 PM - Intro To Java - Gamas
DESCRIPTION:Today We Do\n\nWe continued learning Map/HashMap by storing Student into map and finding Student in map. Also we did list all students by going through every value in the map using for loop.\nWe compared the performance of searching Map vs List. The result was searching Student using Map.key (firstName) is really fast.\n\nHomework\n\nIn findTeacher()… add code to print “We cannot find %s teacher in our system.” when the teacher name cannot be found in the Map. This is very similar to what we did in findStudentByMap()\nIn listAllStudents()… add code to check if there is no students in the system to print “There are no students in our system yet.” . Do the same thing with listAllTeachers().

SUMMARY:6 PM - Intro to Python - David
DESCRIPTION:Topics covered in class today:\n\nWe reviewed the homework that covered functions with and without return values\nPracticed using more functions with return values\nLearned about the random module\n\nHomework: \n\nRefer to the magic 8-ball problem that we did in class today. Instead of using “randint()” to get random values\, this time we will use “choice()” to get random elements in an array. Your homework is to work on converting the magic 8-ball problem to use “choice()”.\nStar Wars Problem: https://www.ayclogic.com/intro-to-python/star-wars-problem/\n\nIf you have any questions or need help\, please email me at david@ayclogic.com

SUMMARY:2 PM - Scratch Level 1
DESCRIPTION:Today we:\n\nFinished the Drawing Shapes in Grid project\nStarted the Animal Crossing project\nLearned how to code sprites to move across the screen while changing costumes\nLearned about the code “change x by 10” and “change y by 10”\n\nHomework:\n\nAdd another Dot sprite and code it to start at the middle of the bottom edge/border. Then code the sprite to move up while switching costumes.\nAdd another sprite (you can choose which one to use). Code it to start at one edge/border of the screen and move across the screen.\nIf you want\, you can choose another background. This is optional.\nClick on the link to see an image of the coordinate plane if you need it for homework: Labeled Coordinate Plane.\nYou can also look at your printed coordinate plane paper to help you with homework.\nContact gamas@ayclogic.com or allison.682.lee@gmail.com if you have any questions or need any help .

SUMMARY:5pm Scratch Level 2 - Bill
DESCRIPTION:Today We:\n\nContinued the Fireball Fighting project\nImported in our custom images\nResized the images and made them face the right way\nCreated the movement for 1 character using a Player Speed variable\nMade a copy of that code for the other character\nStarted to work on the fireballs\nResized the fireballs and rotated them\nMade the fireballs continuously move left/right towards the side of the other player\n\nYour HW:\n\nMake it so when the fireball crosses the border off the screen on the other player’s side\, the fireball clone is deleted\n\nYou CAN NOT use the “touching edge” code\n\n\nAfter that is done\, make it so the other side character’s fireball works exactly the same as this character’s fireball. (Click and drag the scripts into the other fireball and change a few things to make the fireball move in the right direction like we did with the player movement)

SUMMARY:5PM - Advanced Digital Illustration
DESCRIPTION:MONDAY \nToday we continued the Penny Haywood project. We finished up the entire sketch now including the hands\, legs\, hair and broom. The underlaying “body sketch” is turned off\, so we can see the work we’ve done clearly\, and fix up anything that looks messy. \n \nHOMEWORK \n\nContinue working on Nephanee. Last week we started to sketch her clothes – continue to add more detail and refinement to sketching her clothes. You can work in as many or as few layers as you want for now.\nFINAL PROJECT is approaching. You don’t need to start on anything yet\, but please think about a character you want to draw. It can be any human character\, something that already exists\, or a character you made up by yourself. We will talk about this in class.
