Privacy Policy (United States)
Welcome to American Young Coder Academy! We’re committed to protecting the privacy of families exploring our kids’ coding classes. Even though our students are all in the U.S., we align with CCPA/CPRA and COPPA to provide transparency and choice.
1. What We Collect & Why
- Contact details (email, phone) — collected when you submit forms (e.g. demo request) to follow up and convert leads.
- Tracking data — via cookies and Meta Pixel, used to measure engagement and optimize outreach.
- Lookalike audience data — hashed emails/phones uploaded to Meta to create similar audience segments for future advertising.
2. Our Use of Your Data
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not display any third-party ads on our website.
- Your data is used solely to improve outreach and find similar families who may be interested in our programs.
3. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:
- Right to access the categories or specific pieces of personal information we’ve collected.
- Right to know the sources, purposes, and any third parties with whom we share your information.
- Right to delete your personal information (subject to legal exceptions).
- Right to opt out of data “sharing” used for advertising (e.g. lookalike audiences).
- Right to non-discrimination if you exercise these rights.
To opt out or submit a request, please visit our Opt-out preferences page.
4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our services are designed for children under 13. We collect personal information only with verified parental consent. Parents have the right to:
- Review their child’s personal data.
- Request corrections or deletion.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and tools like Meta Pixel to understand visitor interest and improve student outreach. These tools help us measure conversions (e.g. demo sign-ups). You can manage or withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner.
6. Data Retention & Security
Your personal data is stored only as long as needed—typically until enrollment or for up to 36 months afterwards. We take reasonable steps to protect your data and require third-party partners (e.g. Meta) to do the same.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy over time. Check back periodically for updates. The date of last revision is noted at the top.
