7 PM – AI/ML – Joel

Today we did:

1. We started the first project (cat vs dog classification).

Homework:

1. Make a function called cat_or_dog that has a parameter called file_name.
   Check if that file_name’s first letter is capitalized (.isupper()).
   If it is, return “CAT”.
   Otherwise, return “DOG”.
2. Shortly before the class (10 minutes perhaps), make sure to run the “pip install” cell as it can take a while. Once it finishes (a lot of red text usually), go to run -> restart and clear cell outputs. Once you do that, don’t rerun the pip install cell, and just run the imports cell. If you see that the printed versions match the ones in the pip install cell, you’re good to go and you can run the rest of the cells below.
3. Similar to last week, save a version (don’t worry if it fails for now) and make the notebook public, and send the link to my email at joel@ayclogic.com for homework submission.
